Your mountainside accommodations are at the Wisp Resort Hotel & Conference Center in the Alleghany Mountains. All meals, beverages and ride support food are included in the 3 night package, including gourmet dining at D.C.’s Bar & Restaurant and a torch lit luau overlooking one of only 2 man-made white water rafting courses in North America, Adventure Sports Center International.

Your bike guides will be under the direction of Jimmy Railey from Park City Utah. Jimmy is an Ironman finisher, 4 time Tour De France Course rider, and native of Garrett County Md. His rides around the world have raised funds for countless charities, as well as imparting a more skillful level of training and riding for his participants. Line’ Lauritsen, a Physical Therapist hailing from Denmark, is a veteran tour guide, as well as an Ironman finisher. She, along with Patrick Kildow, an established guide and Tour rider, will be arriving to lead for you from the SIC in Spain. The morning rides will include 2- 40 mile climbing rides, and one 20 mile lakeside recovery ride. An alternative 57 mile, extremely difficult and hilly route used during the grueling 2007 Savage Man Triathlon will be available, without support, for those with extensive training.

Bike support will be provided by High Mountain Sports. Experienced mechanics will accompany each ride in vehicles. HMS is the regions leading dealer for serious bike enthusiasts.

The non-riders will partake in an interactive French Cooking Class with Gaynor Grant. Chef Grant started her culinary training in 1973 at Portsmouth University in the UK. In 1981 she enrolled in the professional program at the famed “Peter Kumps New York Cooking School” now the “International Culinary Institute”. Gaynor became a teacher and shortly thereafter, the director of the school. She has since opened several successful cooking schools, and also tests recipes for numerous cookbooks, removing the intimidation so often associated with gourmet meals and desserts. www.sweetwatercooking.com

Guests will also enjoy the thrill of Wisp Resort’s Mountain Coaster, a different way to see the slopes! This gravitation hybrid of an alpine slide and a roller coaster, is the only one of it’s kind in the Mid-Atlantic region.

For all guests who want the land and sea side of adventure, you will be rafting down the rapids under the guidance of many internationally ranked guides. The Adventure Sports Center course encircles the top of Wisp Mountain, and replicates various levels of rapids from class ll-lV. For a once in a lifetime adventure, this is a safe and unique way to learn the art of navigating rapids.

The only thing riders will need is their own bike and clothing! This all inclusive package is priced at $2295.00 per couple, if registered by July 15, 2008. After July 15, price will be $2695.00.

Wisp Resort Mountain Coaster
A $500 non-refundable deposit is required at time of booking, and full payment must be made by August 1, 2008. Register on-line at www.sewickleyspabikecamp.com. All rides are rain or shine, please pack accordingly. Participation is limited to 20 couples on a first come-first serve basis. We reserve the right to cancel with participation less than ten couples with a full refund to registered participants.
